Innovation Group Recognised in 2011 MarketScope for North American Property and Casualty Insurance Policy Management Modules Report

Author: Jeff Haner | Gartner Inc. “MarketScope for North American Property and Casualty Insurance Policy Management Modules” | 2011

The North American property and casualty (P&C) insurance buyer faces many policy management module choices. The market is crowded, growing, and full of established and emerging vendors with great variations in industry experience, functional depth, and strength and flexibility of technology. It is imperative that buyers assess the strengths and weaknesses of the various solutions to ensure implementation success. Buyers should find solutions that not only meet their business needs and are compatible with surrounding applications, but also address future needs. They should expect vendors to provide specified upgrade and migration paths, and a detailed road map that includes future technical and functional enhancements, as well as plans for next generation capabilities, such as support for mobile devices, portal front ends, analytics/dashboards and improved product development. Insurers considering a new policy management module should make identifying their key requirements a top priority. In this MarketScope, these policy management modules were compared against current-day and next-generation buyer needs to assess vision, solution completeness and match to buyer needs, as well as the ability of the solution to mature to match the future needs of P&C insurers.
